Reporters recently learned from the Management Committee of XMTORCH that, XMTORCH, together with China Mobile Fujian Co., Ltd. Xiamen Branch and Xiamen Information Group, has constructed the 5G Park in the third phase of Xiamen Software Park in order to boost integrated innovation between 5G and artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data and edge computing by relying on Xiamen Software Park 5G Joint Innovation Center built by Xiamen 5G Joint Innovation Laboratory. This is also the first 5G Park in Fujian Province.

　　With 5G’s massive bandwidth, you can watch 4K videos smoothly, and you can even see the skin texture of penguins clearly; just waving your arms in front of AR dressing mirror, you can “change your clothes” in one second; wearing VR headset, you can sing songs on the stage or play games as you are right inside of it.... In the exhibition hall of the third phase of Xiamen Software Park, the novel and interesting 5G applications developed by enterprises Zamer Tech and √3 located in the park endow visitors with a deeper understanding of the features of 5G technology such as higher bandwidth, lower delay and wider connection.

The related staff from China Mobile Xiamen Branch told reporters that Xiamen 5G Joint Innovation Laboratory has been officially established on this year's Industrial Investment Promotion Conference of “Digital China” Construction Summit Xiamen Session , as the municipal committee and government's important grasp to accelerate the city's 5G industry incubation and technology implementation. It is aimed at building Xiamen Software Park 5G Joint Innovation Center for relevant enterprises settled in Xiamen Software Park to provide them with 5G network environment and 5G R&D technology platform and reduce their R&D costs. Reporters learned that such enterprises settled in XMTORCH as Meiya Pico, Wangsu, Kehua Hengsheng, √3 and Zamer Tech have joined Xiamen Software Park 5G Joint Innovation Center, launching the research and development of new 5G technology and applications.

　　As the third phase of Xiamen Software Park enters the “5G era”, the Park has become an excellent testing site for 5G applications. A typical case is that the 5G bus for online hailing built by Xiamen Public Transport Group, China Mobile, Tsinghua University and Xiamen Information Group has been tested in the third phase of Xiamen Software Park. “After users send their bus demand by just tapping on their mobile phones, the data is uploaded to the background and the system automatically arranges the bus number and plans the driving route for drivers.” Chen Jingyuan from Xiamen Public Transport Group said that this complex process can be completed in only a few seconds with the help of 5G technology. In the future, the 5G bus for online hailing will also run in the third phase of Xiamen Software Park, providing customized bus services for the employees of park enterprises.
